My particular curiosity and appreciation for Yoga stems from my love for
movement, my interest in health and my desire to understand how the
body/mind works. I began to study Yoga in 1984 during my career as a health
care administrator, and I took a year of college level anatomy and physiology
prior to training as a Yoga teacher.
Yoga became a central part of my life while raising three children, one with
special needs, and helping my mother through her last years of ill health. I
recognized the need to take care of myself, both physically and emotionally.
Through extensive training, reading, and practice I can now guide others in
developing a safe and healing Yoga program to address their physical or mental
pain. I work with several local psychotherapists to help their patients balance
talk therapy with Yoga asana, breathwork, and restorative practices.
The quote that best explains what I feel Yoga offers is from my late teacher,
Esther Myers

“You can use Yoga for stress management, as a powerful ally in a storm, or a vehicle for profound self-acceptance, transformation, and love. “
